Accessibility Policy
The Texas Higher Education
Coordinating Board is committed to making its Web sites accessible
to all users. We have included several features designed to improve
accessibility for users with disabilities. Some of theses features
are outlined below.
Images on all THECB sites
contain the "alt" attribute. This attribute contains
a description of the image and aids users who listen to the content
of the site using a screen reader, rather than reading the site.
Major reports and other
special publications that are made available on our Web sites
are generally available in HTML. In some cases we may publish
a document using Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). When posting
PDF files, we follow the "How to Create Accessible Adobe
PDF Files".
To improve the accessibility
of our Web sites we test any major redesign with several screen
readers and other web tools. The results of these reviews have
been incorporated into the website. The Texas Higher Education
Coordinating Board welcomes comments on how to improve the site's
accessibility for users with disabilities. Our Web site development
guideline is available for review at http://www.thecb.state.tx.us/SiteInfo/developmentguide.pdf.
The Texas Higher Education
Coordinating Board is committed to making its Web sites compliant
with Conformance Level "A" of the World Wide Web Consortium
accessibility rating
