You've learned a lot this semester. You've learned
how to read carefully, you've learned about plot structure
and character development, you've learned about college,
and you've learned about working as a team. You've also
learned that writing a book is hard, funny, challenging,
exciting, frustrating and important. |

Literature can change lives. In writing this book,
you are literally working to change people's lives.
And writing can change your own life. What you are doing
is important -- it is necessary. Despite whatever difficulties
you have and will encounter along the way, your efforts
are part of something enormous and positive. And that's
the big picture. Your work is changing lives. |
